Yoga holidays in the sun

Retreats by the Red Sea

"There is a great mis-conception in the West as to what yoga really is. Most people will tell you it is a form of exercise. This is true BUT! there is a whole lot more to yoga than just the asanas (postures). These are what my teacher called the baby class of yoga.
Yoga is a complete way of life, addressing how you live your life on a daily basis. People tell me all the time they practise Hatha yoga. Another mis-conception. All asana and pranayama practise is Hatha yoga. What differs is the style but it is all Hatha yoga."......... Barbara Gordon

There are the five proper ways of living in the Sivananda system:

Proper thinking
Proper eating
Proper excercise
Proper rest
Proper actions

On the Sunra Yoga Retreats we will be looking into these many aspects of yoga. You will not just be practicing asanas (yoga postures), you will also be learning about pranayama (yoga breathing) meditation, chakras, healing, chanting & diet, plus we will be looking at yoga philosophy.  What the benefits are, why practice yoga, thus giving you a real overview of this ancient pragmatic and magical science.
The retreats will be run by Barbara Gordon founder and director of:

Her current teacher is Guruji Mohan, an enlightened master and healer extraordinaire, whom she met in Rhajastan where he is based, six years ago, when invited to teach on an Indian colleague’s teacher training in India. She goes to visit Guruij every year for further training and inspiration.
She has studied and practised many forms of Hatha Yoga including, Sivananda, Iyengar, Ashtanga, plus Buddhist and Hindu Meditation. One of her great loves is Bhajan, (Sanskrit Chanting).

What is the difference between a Yoga Retreat and a Yoga Holiday?

Yoga holidays in contrast are more for people who want a holiday where they do yoga. So often on the holidays people say they would like to learn more than just the asanas, which is why we have decided to organise the retreats.

Location

The retreats take place at Nakhil-Inn at the edge of Tarabeen, one of Sinai's oldest tourist resorts, with the usual restaurants and bazaars. It’s within a short journey to St Katherine's Monastery and Mount Sinai. Duna is close by too, with some of the most beautiful and rare sand dunes of the Sinai, hence the name Duna.
Nakhil hosts its own private soft sand beach, with stunning views of Saudi Arabia and the Gulf of Aquaba.

Accommodation
